It is surprising that some people think Australia’s resources boom is coming to an end.
Australians are quite familiar with the recent mining boom that somewhat insulated Australia from the Global Financial Crisis of 2008. LNG, which has attracted more than $200 billion investment in the past decade, has accounted for much of the growth in the resource sector.
In the coming decades, the world will need more energy, and Australia has the abundant natural gas resources to supply it. Supporting natural gas is critical to Australia’s continued prosperity.
