NSW Chief Scientist Professor Mary O’Kane, released an initial report into NSW CSG-related activities.
The Chief Scientist recognised the importance of natural gas to the NSW economy and stressed the state should lead the world with an efficient regulatory regime.
We hope this review’s final recommendations, expected in 2014, lead the NSW Government to re-consider its energy policy, which has so significantly damaged state investment and energy security.
The NSW Government’s continued failure to respond to increasing gas demand and facilitate the development of its gas resources will have unfortunate consequences in the form of lost jobs and foregone economic opportunity.
